As of Dec. 1, there were 73.1 million hogs and pigs on U.S. farms, down 2% from December 2021 and down 1% from Sept. 1, 2022, according to the Quarterly Hogs and Pigs report that was recently published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
The 2021 Organic Survey is a survey of all known U.S. farms and ranches with certified organic production in 2021, as well as those transitioning into organic production.
