Cher-Make Sausage Co. announced its expanding approach to growing private label opportunities by naming James Birt as director of private label & co-pack sales.
The proposal will allow establishments to label a broader range of products without first submitting the label to FSIS for approval, should it become final.
Tri-City Cheese and Meats, a Kawkawlin, Mich., establishment is recalling approximately 252 pounds of kippered beef because it contains sodium nitrite, which is not listed as an ingredient on the label.
Oberto Sausage Company, a Kent, Wash., establishment is recalling approximately 772 pounds of beef jerky products because they contain an undeclared allergen, soy, which is not declared on the label. Soy is a known allergen.
