Oberto Sausage Company, a Kent, Wash., establishment is recalling approximately 772 pounds of beef jerky products because they contain an undeclared allergen, soy, which is not declared on the label. Soy is a known allergen.
The product subject to recall is 4.16-oz. canisters of "Lowrey's Hickory Smoked Beef Jerky," containing 3 individual snack packs of 6 beef jerky sticks. These products have a best-by date of "130412 01," printed on the bottom of each canister.

Each canister bears the establishment number "EST. 2862B" inside the USDA mark of inspection. These products were produced on April 15, 2011, and were distributed to retail establishments in Iowa, Minn., N.D. and Wis. The problem was discovered by the company during a label review, and occurred because of a printing error made by its label maker.
