The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a $1.1 trillion spending package that avoids a government shutdown.

The (WTO) ruled that Canada and Mexico can slap more than $1 billion in tariffs on U.S. goods in retaliation for the U.S. country of origin labeling.

The company has been awarded the COOL Supplier Certification for being COOL compliant with the United States Department of Agriculture.

Canada and Mexico are seeking more than $3 billion in retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods.

The Republicans on the committee want to repeal the law entirely.

Passage of the measure came easily on a vote of 300-131.

U.S. exports that could be affected include fruits, vegetables, grains, pasta, chocolates, baked goods, prepared food, jewelry, liquor, wine and furniture.

Approval of the bill came just two days after a WTO Appellate Body confirmed for the fourth time that U.S. mandatory country-of-origin labeling rules are a violation of the United States’ WTO obligations.

House Agriculture Chairman K. Michael Conaway (R-TX) has introduced H.R. 2393, a bill to repeal mandatory Country of Origin Labeling requirements for beef, pork, and chicken products.
