Montana Meat Co., a grass-fed meat distributor, has been awarded a grant of up to $75,000 from the state of Montana. The company will use the grant to hire as many as 10 full-time employees over the next year, reports the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.

“It was perfect. It was a good fit,” MMC owner Garl Germann said of the grant. “Good staffing is what we’ve been lacking up until now and we’ve recognized that it’s not going to happen without a good team.”

Montana Meat Co. was one of several companies that received help to expand their businesses. Montana Meat Co. started in 2013 after Germann, who previously owned a specialty meat shop, saw a need for a better marketing and distribution system for natural meats. The company works with more than 50 producers, delivering meat actoss Montana, Idaho and Washington.
