The former Bartels Meat Company in Eugene, Ore., a family-operated business for several generations, ceased operations in March 2018. The facility is being sold by the Bartels family, who have provided the following information:

The vertically integrated harvest facility and further processing facility, which are 9 miles apart on the I-5 corridor, allow for the production and shipment of fresh beef products, enhancing shelf life for satisfied customers. Both are turn-key-ready plants, and the USDA grant of inspection is officially on standby and transferable to a new owner, with a fully-written HACCP Plan and robust Animal Welfare Plan.

The operations have been Oregon Tilth Certified for the past 10 years and this certification is transferable to a new owner, along with a list of current Organic livestock producers that have provided livestock.

The harvest facility is approx. 10,700 sq. ft. located on 7.23 acres, for a total square footage (with additions) of approx. 30,295, along with a recently built mechanical room housing a 1.6 million BTU gas-fired boiler and 4-cyclone boilers for the sinks and sanitizers, covered pens and two covered barns.  The facility has capability to harvest up to 300 head of cattle per day.  The Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan is approved by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and is transferable to a new owner.

Major upgrades have been made by the owners in recent years to the facilities.
