A statement the USDA says that Central Valley Meat Co.’s improved oversight for animal welfare prompted the government to reinstate purchases for federal feeding programs.
Central Valley Meat Co., which was shut down a week ago after an undercover video shows alleged instances of animal cruelty, says that its improved animal handling procedures are now in place, exceeding USDA standards.
"There are behaviors in the video which appear to be unacceptable and would not adhere to the standards we demand of our suppliers," McDonald's said in release.
