Most sausages are made in much the same way: grind, mix, stuff, cook. Braunschweiger, though, is a little different. A type of liver sausage, it requires different ingredients, different processes, and different cooking methods than your standard brat or hot dog.
Along with its braunschweiger, bacon and other meats, Dewig Meats offers sodas, pies, pizzas, salsas, salads, seasonings and cinnamon rolls that are made by other Indiana food companies.
All total, there were almost 750 products entered at the 2016 Cured Meats Championships, held during the American Association of Meat Processors’ annual convention in Omaha, Neb. in July.
