DEL Ozone announces new president Mike Hawkins

By Industry News
December 8, 2014

DEL Ozone, the leading manufacturer of advanced ozone sanitation solutions, announced that its Board of Directors named Mike Hawkins as the company’s next President, effective November 10, 2014. Hawkins was selected for the position based on his expertise in sales strategies, his wealth of business knowledge and his 10+ years of industry experience.

Since joining DEL Ozone, Hawkins has helped strengthen and maintain DEL’s dominant OEM market position through his responsibilities as the Director of OEM Sales, successfully pursuing and capturing key OEM market opportunities. Hawkins’ positive track record at DEL Ozone is expected to lead to a successful transition as DEL Ozone focuses on current and evolving market opportunities, and industry partnerships.

“I greatly appreciate the opportunity to continue to be part of this team. We are optimistic as we turn a new leaf that we can carry on the engineering and product excellence that have made DEL the industry leader.”

As a part of this transition, the current President, Joel Peterson has announced his retirement from the company and will be stepping down as President. Peterson will continue to be actively involved with the company and will remain on DEL Ozone’s Board of Directors. With DEL Ozone since 1992, and as President since 2010, Peterson has had an enormously positive impact on the company’s market position; helping to grow and develop new and existing markets for ozone sanitation.

“It has been a pleasure to have led the DEL team for the past few years and I am proud of our accomplishments. I’m confident that Mike is well suited for his new role as President since Mike is very familiar with the alternative sanitation industry. Mike has the support of the employees to build on the momentum that we have established as the Company pursues market opportunities.”

DEL Ozone operations will continue to move in the strategic directions established by the Board and closely executed by Hawkins and staff. The company will identify high value opportunities with an emphasis on development and growth in its residential pool, commercial aquatics, spa, and food safety business segments.

Established in 1975, DEL Ozone defined the standards for ozone sanitation in zoos and aquariums, pioneered ozone applications in swimming pools and introduced ozone to the spa industry. DEL offers complete product lines for pool, spa, industrial, aquatics and food safety applications. Consulting with state health department agencies since 1986, DEL also maintains a close working relationship with USEPA, CDC, FDA, USDA and NSF. With a dedication to the green movement for more than 30 years, DEL proudly offers environmentally friendly products and promotes a global reduction in chemical use.
