HACCP-certified polymer flooring on show at Chicago’s PROCESS EXPO

By Industry News
August 12, 2015

PROCESS EXPO is the largest trade show in North America dedicated exclusively to the global food and beverage industry.

Spanning the entire spectrum of the food and beverage sector, tens of thousands of professionals descend on this biennial four-day event in search of the latest innovations in food processing and packaging technology, equipment and services.

Flowcrete Americas will be showcasing its wide range of seamless, impervious and taint free polymer flooring systems from Booth 2908, including its HACCP certified cementitious urethane range, Flowfresh.
HACCP International certification is a globally recognized benchmark of food safety, and as such is an important set of criteria for food brands eager to harmonize food safety standards across their organization.

“Our cementitious urethane range has been able to achieve the HACCP International certification thanks to its ability to deliver a long list of strict food industry flooring requirements,” says Dave McNeece, Managing Director for Flowcrete Americas.

This certification means that food and beverage brands operating a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Food Safety Management Program can specify Flowcrete materials, safe in the knowledge that they will meet the relevant regulatory authority’s standards for safe procurement, production and processing as well as the requirements of the world’s leading quality and food safety standards.

“The floor plays a crucial role in addressing contamination risks, as an inadequate finish can become a prime site of bacteria build-up. Not only does the floor have to provide a hygienic surface, it needs to do so in the face of corrosive chemicals, moisture, impacts and thermal shock.”

“If it cannot withstand these conditions then the floor can quickly fail – leading to germs and pathogens infiltrating hard to clean cracks,” add McNeece.

Flowfresh has been specifically formulated to provide a surface that will comply with food industry regulations for an extended period of time despite the sector’s inherently challenging conditions.
