Mérieux NutriSciences acquires majority stake in EnviroMap Software Solution

By Industry News
November 2, 2015

Mérieux NutriSciences Corporation announced that it has reached an agreement to partner with Management Solutions of Virginia by purchasing a majority share in Management Solutions of Virginia’s subsidiary, EMAP Holding LLC, a company providing a comprehensive and secure software solution for environmental monitoring called EnviroMap.

EnviroMap, a cloud-based system for scheduling, submitting, recording, and tracking microbiological environmental sampling procedures, is playing an important role in transforming safety programs across the food industry.

Philippe Sans, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mérieux NutriSciences, said: “We are committed to providing our customers around the globe with innovative services that result in the production of safer, higher quality products. With the investment in EnviroMap, we are continuing to grow our organizational blueprint to provide our valued clientele with cutting-edge programs and services.”

EnviroMap is revolutionizing the way food plant microbiological environmental monitoring programs are being managed, according to Jim Miller, President of Mérieux NutriSciences North America. “Food companies are utilizing EnviroMap’s state-of-the-art technology to meet their own internal standards and comply with increasing federal standards for preventive controls stemming from the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).” Miller noted that EnviroMap® will be a critical component in a suite of Mérieux NutriSciences’ environmental monitoring program services, including its public and custom education courses, in-plant consulting, and testing.

“Mérieux NutriSciences, formerly Silliker, was instrumental in defining guidelines for environmental monitoring programs during their genesis in the 1960s and 70s,” said Larry Bowman, President of Management Solutions of Virginia. “This ideal partnership brings together the technical know-how of a recognized industry leader in food safety and a progressive software solutions provider.”

EnviroMap is fully integrated with Mérieux NutriSciences’ laboratory network so environmental results are seamlessly and automatically updated in the software. It can also interface with other external data sources such as customers’ internal LIMS (lab information management systems). All data is securely stored on an encrypted private cloud server, which is continuously monitored.
