Grillman’s expands into major regional grocery chain, two Texas universities

By Industry News
August 30, 2016

Grillman’s, makers of premium, all-beef and meat franks, is pleased to announce the expansion of product distribution into Harris Teeter Neighborhood Supermarkets, a prestigious east coast grocery chain known for quality meats, seafood and produce. Grillman’s has also expanded westward, where its distinctive franks will be sold in all sports venues at Baylor University and University of Texas.

Grillman’s will begin stocking Harris Teeter store shelves in the next 30 days with products including their All Natural Beef, Black Angus Beef, and Black Angus Gigantic Beef Franks. Harris Teeter, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Kroger Co., operates 230 stores in seven states and the District of Columbia.

“The Harris Teeter brand aligns seamlessly with what our products promise to be – a truly premium frank with no fillers and the perfect blend of spices,” said Grillman’s Partner Mark Frisch. “We are honored to be among the high-quality products offered within this revered neighborhood grocer. We are confident that Harris Teeter shoppers will be impressed by our mouthwatering family recipes and our company’s commitment to producing the highest quality franks.”

Similarly, with an eye toward expanding the Grillman’s brand into the Texas market, the company has been named a partner of both Baylor University and the University of Texas. Through these partnerships, Grillman’s will soon become a fan favorite at all Baylor and UT Athletic sports events. Both partnerships begin with the 2016 sports seasons.

“We are thrilled to establish partnerships with these great Texas institutions,” said Frisch. “Grillman’s is a huge supporter of collegiate athletics, and both Baylor and UT are making positive impacts through their strong academic offerings and solid reputations. Partnering with colleges is a great way for us to build brand awareness and expand into new markets, and we are excited to continue building on this momentum in the Lone Star State.”

The Baylor and UT partnerships bring Grillman’s major sports partnership count to nine, including the Detroit Pistons (NBA), Atlanta Braves (MLB), Philadelphia Union (MLS), the Florida State Seminoles (collegiate athletics), Jacksonville University Dolphins (collegiate athletics), the Jacksonville Suns (MiLB) and Palace Sports Entertainment (sports and entertainment venue).

Under both new partnership agreements, Grillman’s will supply franks for concession stands and carts throughout all sporting facilities. At Baylor, that includes McLane Stadium, with a capacity of 45,140, The Ferrell Center which can seat 10,347 and Baylor Ballpark, with a 5,000-fan capacity. UT’s venues include Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium at Joe Jamail Field with a capacity of 100,119, the 16,540-seat Frank C. Edwin, Jr., Special Events Center, UFCU Disch-Falk Field with a capacity of 6,756 and Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field boasting a capacity of 20,000, among others.

In addition to concession rights, the partnership also includes radio broadcast promotions and digital activation for Grillman’s.

Grillman’s is the newest line of products launched in 2014 by Beaver Street Fisheries, a Florida-based wholesale and retail seafood and meat supplier with more than 60 years in the food-service industry. The Grillman’s product line features eight top-quality franks, cocktail franks and smokies that contain no fillers and no artificial preservatives.
