Shanghai Husi Food Co, OSI Group fined $3.6 million by Chinese officials
The Shanghai Daily has reported that Shanghai Husi Food Co. and its parent group, OSI Group, have been fined more than 24 million yuan ($3.6 million) for making and selling sub-standard products. The fines stemmed from an undercover video from 2014 showing workers at a Shanghai Husi plant using expired meat in their products.
Reuters reports that Husi had been fined an additional 16.98 million yuan by the Jiading district's Market Supervision and Management Bureau. It also had its food production license revoked and food products and illegal profits confiscated, the IShanghai Daily said. OSI China was fined 7.3 million yuan and issued a warning by the Xuhui district's Market Supervision and Management Bureau.
