Madison Chemical introduces Madison MPW, a liquid peroxyacetic acid-based microbiocide or antimicrobial intervention chemical which is ideal for use in Federally inspected meat, poultry and seafood processing installations.   This equilibrium mixture of peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid, proprietary ingredients and water, exhibits excellent bactericidal and fungicidal activity against a wide range of microorganisms, including E. coli, E. coli 0157:H7, Listeria and Salmonella.  It can be used in cold or warm water, is tolerant of water hardness, is non-foaming, and imparts no taste, odor or color to the treated foods.  Madison MPW is ideal for direct or indirect application to raw or further food products including: processed whole, half, quarter or red-meat parts, organs and trim; poultry carcasses, parts and organs; as well as seafood and vegetable food items.

Madison MPW is used as a water additive for use directly in or on food products in accordance with 21 CFR 173.315 and 21 CFR 73.370.  It meets NOP (Organic) standards per 7 CFR 205.605 and is Kosher approved.  It may be used to decrease the incidence of pathogenic organisms in or on food, and/or help reduce the number of decay or food spoilage organisms normally present in the processing of meat, dairy, poultry, seafood and vegetable food items.   Can also be used in cooling water applications as an antimicrobial water or brine treatments in the preparation and cooling of cooked and formed Ready-To-Eat meat and poultry products.  Madison MPW is safe for use with aluminum, stainless steel 304 and 316, and tinned iron at concentrations up to 400 ppm.

Madison MPW is manufactured under strict food grade conditions using only food grade or better raw materials and is essentially free of any heavy and/or transition metals.
