T&B EX explosion-proof solutions, new from Thomas & Betts (T&B), a member of the ABB Group, offer a complete system for protecting electrical components and devices in hazardous environments.

“We now offer a full-line of explosion-proof enclosures, motor controls and power distribution equipment for applications in hazardous and adverse environments, such as processing plants, mines and power generation facilities,” said Ralph Donati, product marketing director, Installation Products, at ABB Electrification Products. “When combined with ABB industrial controls and circuit protection devices, the customer has a complete system solution that can be tailored to the specific needs of the application.”

Custom T&B EX explosion-proof solutions can be configured with ABB (or another specified manufacturer) industrial controls and circuit protection devices in time to not only meet customer application requirements, but also project schedules. Detailed drawings of each custom unit are available to ensure that the solution meets the exact needs of the application.

T&B EX explosion-proof enclosures meet NEMA 7/9 hazardous location requirements. In addition to enclosures, instrument housing and junction and control boxes, the T&B explosion-proof line includes circuit breakers, disconnects, motor starters, control stations, pilot devices and panel boards. T&B EX explosion-proof solutions are designed to withstand hazardous and harsh conditions that are typical in oil and gas, pulp and paper, food and beverage, chemical, and pharmaceutical processing, as well as power generation and metals and mining operations.
