Nicole Makowski, president of Makowski’s Real Sausage Co., has joined the Ping Pong Ball Event Committee for Jackson Chance Foundation (JCF), a nonprofit that provides parking to families who have premature and ill babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

“I was astounded to find out that it can cost over $1,000/month for families to visit their newborn in the hospital and that the majority of these NICU babies are there for months at a time,” she says.

“Medical studies have proven that physical touch has equal benefits to medical care for premature and ill babies. By removing the financial burden of parking fees for families, we make sure this basic human right isn’t taken away,” reads the JCF website.

The Ping Pong Ball is scheduled for Thursday, November 9 at the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago. Last year’s event feature more than 500 guests, and JCF was featured on CNN, The Chicago Tribune and more. Sponsorship options are available from $500 to $50,000. Makowski’s Real Sausage will match up to $5,000 in donations.

“I hope you will consider a sponsorship or donation. No amount is too small, so that more premature and ill babies are not alone. Jackson Chance Foundation provides so much more than a parking pass - it provides a critical benefit for babies in the NICU,” Makowski said.
