March 1, 2018

Southern Recipe Small Batch, an authentic, handcrafted, small batch pork rind snack, plans to deliver four unique flavors and two new cooking styles, giving pork rind consumers more options and a better-for-you alternative. The line will feature Oven Baked Southern Recipe Small Batch Pork Rinds in three new flavors: Cilantro Lime, Blackberry Habanero and Smoked Sea Salt. Bringing sweet heat to the snack aisle will also be brand new Tender Style Pork Cracklins in Honey Chipotle. The new Pork Cracklins and Oven Baked Pork Rind products from Southern Recipe Small Batch are high in protein and boast less than one gram of carbs. The Southern Recipe Small Batch Oven Baked Pork Rind are also lower in fat, making them great for a low fat, pork rind snack. Both varieties of better-for-you, grab-and-go snacks will be available at an SRP of $3.99 for each 3.625 oz. bag of Oven Baked Pork Rinds, and at an SRP of $3.99 for each 4 oz. bag of Tender Style Pork Cracklins. These innovative products will give consumers a variety of tasty flavors and textures, and will be available to Kroger shoppers in the Atlanta, Delta, Nashville, Houston and Dallas divisions beginning late March.

Southern Recipe Small Batch’s newest line of pork rinds offers oven baked rinds with 33 percent less fat than the brand’s original pork rind. Hand selected and cooked in small batches, the oven baked pork rinds come in three savory flavors. Cilantro Lime Oven Baked Pork Rinds are packed with fresh citrus notes; Blackberry Habanero Oven Baked Pork Rinds offer a fusion of sweet blackberries and spicy habanero chilies while the Smoked Sea Salt Oven Baked Pork Rinds give the savory and smoky flavor consumers demand today. Meanwhile, the Tender Style Pork Cracklins offer a meatier, crunchier pork rind, sweetened with honey chipotle flavoring.

"We're literally chomping at the bit to share this product with snack fanatics everywhere," shares Mark Singleton, VP of Sales & Marketing for Southern Recipe Small Batch. "Finding a way to bake pork rinds, while maintaining that savory flavor and texture, is a game changer for snackers, dieters and pork rind lovers everywhere."

Honoring the time-tested process that gives Southern Recipe Small Batch Pork Rinds their rich flavor and supreme quality, each new pork rind variety will continue to hold the high standards that define their current products. All new varieties will be high in protein and less than one gram of carbs and Oven Baked Pork Rinds will be lower in fat, than traditional rinds.

Each product produced at Southern Recipe Small Batch is defined by attention to detail. From the ingredients to the production process and from the taste to the texture, supreme quality sets the fifth generation-run company apart. The new cooking styles reflect the company’s passion for bringing consumers the very best pork rinds available. Now, consumers can take advantage of Southern Recipe Small Batch’s superior product in a way that inspires excellence, however they choose to enjoy it.
