World premiere of the new FCA 160 / FCA 120 automatic double clippers

By Industry News
Poly-Clip clipper
July 2, 2019

State-of-the-art in every detail. ALL product parameters stored in the SAFETY TOUCH are monitored, as well as the stock of consumables and the machine functions. In case of deviations and malfunctions, the machine stops automatically.

The FCA combines the advantages of minimum set-up times with maximum operator safety. The fixed clip head relieves the operator during every change of the shirred casing. And the new safety casing brake with hand guard guarantees maximum protection; when making adjustments, the safety distance towards the voiding separator is always observed. Furthermore, safety monitoring is such that unintentional production start without the casing brake is impossible. Safety and reliability, a rapid start-up and continuous production – these are the features that make the machines so efficient. Sensors for recognition of separator hole size and clip pressure setting, a auto-stop system which monitors the end of the clip supply on the reel, and sensors for casing end and loop end recognition are essential equipment features of this double-clipper. A significantly reduced maintenance effort is the cost-saving result of consumption-oriented central lubrication.

Crash safety
The clipping machines FCA 160 / FCA 120 offer error prevention at the highest level. Punch and die are equipped with the RFID system so that it is detected if they do not match. The system prevents operator error and breakage of the clip closure tools at this point. The FCA features a double clip detection with automatic machine stop; this works e.g. against machine overload. The burst detection ensures the lowest possible meat loss in high-speed applications, faster than an operator ever could stop the machine. If you also regularly work with overspreading for loosely filled products, the position detection of the conveyor belt helps to ensure that it can be produced quickly and smoothly when changing to another product.

State of the art with PC control
The degree of automation of the automatic double-clipper allows a maximum of process monitoring of all stored parameters in the recipe management. Recipes can be very comfortably searched, duplicated, saved and restored in the SAFETY TOUCH. The advantage is trouble-free program updates and superfast adaptation of other clipping machines. These automatic clipping machines offer a detailed information of malfunction cause instead of just error message. At a glance, the problem can be identified and thus resolved as quickly as possible. The user manual is on board, you can zoom in directly to the schematic diagram.

Applications
FCA 160
Its wide range of applications characterizes the FCA 160. It reliably closes collagen casings up to calibre 90 mm, fibrous casings up to 120 mm and plastic casings up to 160 mm, depending on product and material thickness. Its speed is up to 160 cycles per minute in continuous mode.

FCA 120
High speed with 200 cycles in continuous mode with highest automation distinguishes the FCA 120. It closes collagen and fibrous casings up to 58 mm and plastic casings up to calibre 120 mm (depending on the material thickness).

With the R-ID clip series, which is optimally adapted to the application, a harmonious closing process is achieved which requires less force and thus less stresses on the wearing parts. A prerequisite for the visually appealing end product with short sausage shoulders is also the linear voiding separator. This increases the yield when slicing. The R-ID clip shape ensures uniform pleating of the casing. The clip is centrally placed on the sausage tail and a special inner profile provides more holding force on the casing. The closure may be bacteria-proof with the use of plastic casing and the appropriate product. This significantly increases the flexibility for the goods dispatch, the best before date need not be reduced preventively. And the geometry of the safety-coated punches and dies also has a wear-reducing effect. Incidentally, they can be changed without tools within seconds.

Hygiene design down to the last detail
Where food processing is concerned, hygiene demands the highest priority. And its hygienic design, allowing for thorough and rapid cleaning, is what marks this machine out. It begins with the easy-to-open machine cover – so quick and uncomplicated, and proceeds to the core element of the automatic clipper, the separator, which has a special ‘cleaning position’. Simply open the separator cleaning flap and everything is easily accessible. This continues with the fully hygienic conveyor belt with non-contact drive. The conveyor belt in hygienic design is characterized by solid compactness and high quality of the conveyor belt. It is completely and very easy to remove without tools. The blue conveyor belts are easily detached and cleaned.

The FCA is also characterized by its use of high-quality stainless steel and titanium, involving state-of-the-art tempering technology. The machine design of these new automatic clippers thus satisfies the most stringent requirements for hygiene and safety as well as complying with all guidelines applied in the food industry.
