TSC releases new generation of mobile direct thermal printers

By Industry News
TSC barcode printer
September 20, 2019

TSC Auto ID introduces the TDM Series, an all-new line of mobile barcode printers. The highly versatile, handy devices boast not only a high battery capacity, but also excellent connectivity and intuitive operation.

Due to their compact design, the TDM printers fit on the palm of a hand and can be comfortably carried on a shoulder strap or hung from a belt. The battery capacity of 1130 mAh for TDM-20 and 3080 mAh for TDM-30 models ensures full mobility that will last an entire shift without the need to recharge the device. An optional media hanger for label widths ranging from 20 to 70 millimetres as well as various sensors for a wide range of label materials provide highest flexibility in terms of applications and printing needs.

In spite of the ergonomic form factor, the smart all-rounders are so rugged as to withstand even rough working environments with ease. The protective case enables them to survive a MIL-STD 810G-compliant drop test from 2.5 metres as well as a 1 metre tumble test. In addition, the casing provides IP54-rated water- and dust resistance.

The self-diagnostic TPH Care Mechanism monitors the health status of the print head in real time, ensuring consistent high-quality printouts. And the TSC Battery Management System on TDM-30 models helps maximize the life span of the battery, thereby avoiding hidden costs and unplanned downtimes. Both guarantee an excellent performance throughout the entire lifespan of the devices. A variety of modern connectivity options including USB 2.0, an NFC tag as well as MFi certified Bluetooth 5.0 functionality enable the use in different operating environments. Models featuring 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 are also available.

The printers come standard with firmware support for the ESC/POS control language and pre-installed OPOS driver, making them easy to integrate into existing MPOS Systems. Additionally, smartphone applications for both Android and iOS are available for browser-based operation.

Despite the printer’s high-performance features both models can be easily operated due to just several easy to understand buttons - even by untrained personal. TSC naturally offers the best certified and proven consumables for almost all applications.
