CHELSEA, Mass. – Kayem Foods Inc. announced Tuesday that it reached an agreement with Tyson Foods Inc. to acquire the Jordan's, Deutschmacher, Kirschner, Essem, Tasty Bite and Willams of Vermont brands.

The company said in a statement that the agreement gave Kayem ownership of all the trademarks associated with the regional brands.

"Kayem Foods is a worthy steward for these important brands and the traditions they have created," says Ray Monkiewicz, president and CEO. "Like Kayem, these brands began as corner meat markets and matured into providers of delicious authentic meat products using the highest quality standards. We are working hard to create a seamless transition with Tyson and our retail partners to ensure continued availability for consumers across New England who cherish these brands."

Privately held Kayem is a regional New England meat processor that produces more than 400 products across seven brand names.
