WASHINGTON – A video from the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC) was the top featured video on video-sharing site YouTube for the July 4 holiday weekend.

The video about hot dog etiquette was released as part of July’s Hot Dog Month. The billing helped the video gain more than 250,000 viewers and is now ranked as one of the top 100 videos on the Web site.

“Top billing on YouTube’s home page is a real honor and one that only a select few videos enjoy,” said NHDSC President Janet Riley. “This position and public interest in the video is testament to hot dog’s popularity in America and around the world.”

The video, along with media interviews of NHDSC staff, helped drive traffic to the council’s new Web site at www.hot-dog.org. More than 8,350 people have visited the site since July 1.

The video may be viewed at www.YouTube.com/hotdogcouncil.
