Owens Country Sausage, Richardson, TX, is adding two new flavors to its line of dinner sausage — Owens Smoked Sausage with Cheese and Owens Smoked Sausage with Cheese & Jalapeno. Made with the finest cuts of pork and beef, the sausage was to have been introduced in the refrigerated meat section of grocery stores in January.

The 14-ounce package has a suggested retail price of $3.49. The fully-cooked product can be heated on the grill, steamed, or included in recipes.

"Owens Smoked Sausage with Cheese is made from our special recipe with a great cheddar cheese flavor, and the jalapeno version adds just a hint of hot and spicy flavor," says Mike Townsley. president of the company. "Owens has spiced up the packaging, too, with a colorful new look."

The packaging is new to the entire line of dinner sausage, which also includes original, hot links, and ring sausage.

The new dinner sausage joins Owens' other grilling meats including original brats, beer brats, and Italian sausage. Owens product line also features roll sausage, sausage links, and sausage patties. Owens Country Sausage produces a line of convenience foods which includes Owens Border Breakfasts in Sausage, Egg & Cheese Taco; Chorizo Egg & Cheese Taco; and Bacon, Egg & Cheese Taco varieties — as well as Owens Snackwiches in Sausage and Biscuits; Hot Sausage & Biscuits; Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuits; and Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuits varieties.
