Honey Dew Donuts, a coffee and donut chain with more than 150 locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire, has announced its very first official lunch sandwich, Willow Tree Chicken Salad on a multi grain croissant. Both the chicken salad and the multi-grain croissant are brand new items for the chain.

Willow Tree Poultry Farm is locally owned and operated out of Attleboro, Mass., which is not far from Honey Dew Donuts corporate offices. Its chicken salad has been sold in select grocery stores and the Willow Tree Farm retail shop for many years. In the fall of 2012, Honey Dew teamed up with Willow Tree and began offering the sandwich in twelve Massachusetts and Rhode Island shops as a test. Immediate reactions were positive as Honey Dew franchisees and customers were blown away by the quality and flavor.

“Willow Tree Farms chicken salad is recognized as a local premium brand. Our customers can enjoy the local flavor with Willow Tree and our finest bakery products“, said Honey Dew Donuts franchisee Gary Lewis.

After quantitative and qualitative analysis of the five month long test, Honey Dew corporate directors unanimously voted to launch the sandwich chain wide starting in early April 2013.

“We are thrilled to team up with Willow Tree. Their commitment to freshness and quality is greatly reflected in their products. This is a very tasty sandwich that we are excited for our customers to enjoy,” said Richard Bowen, CEO of Honey Dew Associates, Inc.
