China currently requires third party verification that U.S. pork shipped to the country is free of the additive ractopamine.

The country had banned pork imports in 2013 due to the industry’s use of the ractopamine feed additive.

The methods were given official approval to be used in verification testing by the agency following an extensive review of method validation data.
