Multivac Marking & Inspection at Interpack 2014

March 31, 2014

Multivac Label DispenserAt Interpack, which will be held from 8 to 14 May 2014 in Düsseldorf, marking specialist MULTIVAC Marking & Inspection will be presenting a new label dispenser whose modular design allows adaptation to the requirements of all sectors. In future it will form the basis for all MULTIVAC marking systems and was first integrated into MULTIVAC conveyor belt labelers.

Label dispensers must meet many different requirements: The need to work quickly and accurately, be easy to use and be able to be in-stalled in a manner that saves space. Cost-effective solutions with a good price-performance ratio must also be modular so that they can be adapted to all tasks without significant additional costs and be used in a wide variety of industries.

The new generation of label dispensers from MULTIVAC Marking & Inspection can meet these requirements. The integrated control and drive electronics with servo technology allow exact positioning of the labels on the packs.

Convenient operation
Work with the MULTIVAC label dispensers has become even easier with new ergonomic controls. An example of this is the tool-free label roll change, which allows the flanged disc to be operated with just one hand. The loading path accelerates product changes through the small number of deflection rollers. Since the height of the dispenser and the dispensing edge are adjustable, the new label dispenser can be flexibly and quickly adapted to different products so that downtime can be minimized. The new label dispensers are operated using the proven MULTIVAC HMI control terminals MC 10 or HMI 2.0, with which even difficult-to-reach label dispensers or ones installed overhead can be controlled easily and reliably.

The two models available have a label backing strip width of 50 mm to 300 mm – one for the grey area, and a second one designed for use under the strictest hygiene requirements.

Use in MULTIVAC conveyor belt labelers
The new label dispensers are to be gradually integrated into all MULTIVAC marking systems. The conveyor belt labelers were the first series to be fitted with the new label dispensers. The conveyor belt labelers will be divided into two series in the future: The high-end series L 310 offers the usual wide range of options in terms of product transport, label positioning, printing and inspection, and also includes customer-specific solutions. It can integrate any number of label dispensers and label without interruption.

Entry-level series with short delivery times
The new series BASELINE L 300 includes affordable entry-level models for ease of labelling from above, below or diagonally in the low- to medium-performance range. It is operated using the MC 10 control terminal, which is mounted on the front of the transport con-veyor and easily accessible. The smaller number of options of the series BASELINE L 300 enables configuration within a very short time and short delivery times, thus providing an economical solution for standard labeling tasks.

As an integrated version of the BASELINE conveyor belt labeler, smaller MULTIVAC thermoforming packaging machines or traysealers of the series L 301 are available to users. This economical version can be controlled using the HMI 2.0 of the packaging machine.
