Ickey Woods teams up with pork rinds for football legends in need
Rudolph Foods, the world’s largest manufacturer of pork rinds, has announced its Fourth Annual Pork Rind Appreciation Day campaign. Celebrated on the biggest football day of the year, the first Sunday of February, Pork Rind Appreciation Day was cemented as an annual event after the pork rind leader secured hundreds of thousands of consumer votes, as well as political designations, in 2010. Matched each year with charitable support, Rudolph Foods will again support Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides medical and financial assistance to former National Football League (NFL) players in dire need. In response, Rudolph Foods is teaming up with Ickey Woods to raise money to support the Gridiron Greats through the annual Pork Rind Appreciation Day campaign.
Between now and the big game, $.10 of the purchase of all Rudolph Foods branded products, including Rudolph’s, Southern Recipe, Pepe’s Snacks and Lee’s Pig Skins will support the organization’s assistance fund (up to $15,000).
Consumers will have a chance to play Pass the Pigskin, with Ickey Woods for a chance to win $3,500 and a year’s supply of pork rinds from Rudolph Foods. Beginning November 1st until the Big Game Day, fans can play Pass the Pigskin at PorkRindDay.com where they have four chances to throw a bag of pork rinds to Ickey Woods, completing a touch down pass, and they’ll be entered to win! Fans can increase their chance of winning by playing every day and sharing the game with friends.
“There are very few things more American than pork rinds and the game of football,” says Mark Singleton, Vice President Sales and Marketing for Rudolph Foods. “Rudolph Foods, a family owned company, is proud to lead other football-lovin’ fans in the support of Gridiron Greats.”
