Mondi North America, Consumer Packaging’s Square Bag packaging solution has been tested and preapproved by PPi Technologies GROUP for use on PSG LEE filling machines. Testing took place at PPi Technologies GROUP facilities in Sarasota, Fla. and was completed in February 2015.

Mondi North America will exhibit the Square Bag, along with its small spouted pouches, at Natural Products Expo West 2015, March 4-8, in Anaheim, Calif. At the Expo, these pouches can be viewed at the PPi Technologies GROUP booth, #1970. 

“Customers can have the assurance that Mondi’s Square Bag is fully compatible with existing PSG LEE and similar filling machines,” says Markus Hoedebeck, vice president of product development, Mondi Jackson (Mo.). “The testing confirmed that no additional tooling or adjustments are needed with the Square Bag. It is ready for integration into existing filling lines in diverse packaging applications.”

The Square Bag, which is constructed of advanced barrier films in multiple layers, supports diverse consumer goods applications, including the packaging of food, wine and pet food. It packages powders and granular materials weighing up to 10 lbs. and liquids up to 1.5 gallons. The Square Bag displays graphics and product information on all six panels and can be fitted with a spout, zipper, slider or other opening to suit the application.    

 Mondi’s small spouted pouches will be exhibited in 90-gram and 120-gram sizes and shown mounted on rails for use on automated filling lines. The pouches undergo 100% in-line inspection of the spout sealing area during production, offering high assurance of leak-proof reliability. They accommodate a variety of fitments and spouts and can be ordered in hot fill and retort laminate designs.
