See MULTIVAC’s R 105 MF Thermoformer, Films and other food packing systems in action in Booth No. B7637 at IPPE, Jan. 26-28, in Atlanta

By Industry News
December 1, 2015

MULTIVAC is displaying its R 105 MF Thermoformer, along with a variety of films and several other product applications aimed at the poultry and meat industries, in booth No. B7637, at the International Production & Processing Expo, Jan. 26-28, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The R 105 MF Thermoformer is a fully automatic, cost-effective system optimized to produce high-quality vacuum skin packaging. The machine’s compact design requires minimal space, and comes with MULTIVAC Hygienic Design™ technology. The R 105 offers full wash-down capability; its sanitary design replaces edges, corners and catch points, with smooth, slanted surfaces for optimal drainage and ease of cleaning. Additionally, ease access side panels allow ample space for cleaning. The R 105 comes with a user-friendly control system, is customizable to individual applications and is suitable for integration into automated packaging lines.

In response to market demand for an integrated “one-stop shop” providing both packaging machine and film solutions, MULTIVAC now offers a wide array of films, from flexible to semi-rigid rollstock along with pre-made pouches. Incorporating the latest global developments, with local service, MULTIVAC’s packaging materials are prepared to ship immediately from our four regional parts and service centers. With the intimate knowledge of customer needs that only your machine provider can deliver, MULTIVAC has in-house and field-tested all of our products before taking the step to offer you packaging.

MULTIVAC’s philosophy is to fully understand our customers’ “cradle to grave” specifications before making recommendations. Whether you require high barrier, sous vide or ovenable films, flash freezing or anything in between, Multivac ensures there are no surprises.

Other MULTIVAC systems on display in their booth include:

The R225 Thermoformer is a flexible thermoforming packaging machine that has a practice-oriented selection of equipment options that tailored to accommodate a wide variety of pack types and materials, such as:

Lower Web

  • Flexible film
  • Rigid film
  • Foam material
  • Scatter print

Upper Web

  • Flexible film
  • Paper
  • Tyvek fleece material
  • Scatter print/registered print

Modified Atmosphere Packaging

  • Sealing only
  • Vacuum
  • Vacuum with steam flushing
  • MAP O2 < 21%
  • MAP O2 > 21%

Two traysealers will be operational in the booth. The T 300 Traysealer is a fully automatic unit that is optimised for smaller batches and a quick product change. Perfect for small and medium-sized food producers and packers that specialize in meat, sausage and chicken, the T 300 seals up to 10 cycles per minute. The unit is joined by the BASELINE L 300, a conveyor belt labeller used in a variety of industries to apply labels to items such as cups, cans, cartons, tubular pouches, thermoformed packs or trays with maximum precision.

Much like the T300, the T 600 Traysealer is a fully automatic unit designed for small to medium-sized food producers and packers, but can seal up to 15 cycles per minute.

Finally, MULTIVAC’s largest double chamber machine, the C 550, is designed for maximum pack quality, and due to their wide range of equipment options, can be adapted to the product and a broad spectrum of pouch materials.

Double chamber machines are engineered for applications when products are being packed into the first chamber, the second chamber can be unloaded and loaded again, achieving an efficient packaging procedure. IPPE visitors will see demonstrations of the C 550 operational with an entire packaging line, including a shrink tunnel and drying tunnel.

To see how all of these solutions can help your poultry, meat and feed packing applications, make plans to visit MULTIVAC in booth No. B7637 at IPPE. For more information, visit www.multivac.com.
