JTM Food Group, a national leader in creating healthy, fully-cooked menu solutions for the K-12 and foodservice industries, is launching a partnership with Mission Nutrition. Started by a group of K-12 students and educators from Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation in Southeastern Indiana, Mission Nutrition is a program focused on the power of nutrition and designed to pave the way for a healthier generation. Students are using tower gardens to produce fresh produce and herbs that are utilized for both educational programs and by the schools’ cafeterias.

Mission Nutrition currently has two indoor tower gardens within the school corporation. JTM’s sponsorship will add an additional tower garden, and will allow them to work with JTM’s culinary and marketing teams to develop recipe ideas that can be shared with other school nutrition departments. Colleen Perfect, founder of Mission Nutrition and a science teacher at Lawrenceburg High School said, “We are going to impact a lot of lives this year. We are ecstatic to have JTM on board with us as we grow our program and prepare to reach out to more schools. As an educator and parent, it is going to be so much fun watching our students learn from expert chefs and marketing professionals at JTM. We are so thankful for this opportunity.”

Brian Hofmeier, Vice President of Education Sales at JTM, added, “When we heard about Mission Nutrition, we were excited to learn about what they were doing to support nutrition education because JTM produces a wide variety of products to support the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. We pride ourselves on developing versatile, minimally-processed products like our new, clean-label Sous Vide Beef that allows schools to easily and safely create a variety of recipes that use our products in conjunction with fresh produce. We look forward to working with Mission Nutrition to fulfill our common goal of fueling a generation of students with the foods and knowledge they need to succeed.”
