Ground breaking of new production site for MULTIVAC Bulgaria Production

Christian Traumann, CFO of MULTIVAC, and Ivaylo Dimitrov, Managing Director of MULTIVAC Bulgaria Production, gave the starting signal for the new production site of MULTIVAC in Bulgaria at the official ground breaking ceremony on 15 September 2016.

In the presence of government officials and local politicians, including Lyuben Petrov, Deputy Minister of Economics, Georgi Dimov, Mayor of Bozhurishte Municipality and Doncho Barbalov, Deputy Mayor for Investments and Building of Sofia Municipality, and, additionally, representatives of the Agency for Investment and National Company Industrial Zones EAD, the chairmen of the German-Bulgarian Industrial and Commercial Chamber and the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce, Chairmen of Industrial organizations and guests from the country and the media, MULTIVAC celebrated the ground breaking ceremony for its new production site on September 2016.

The production base of MULTIVAC Bulgaria Production Ltd. will be built on a total area of ​​over 200,000 square feet in Industrial Zone Bozhurishte. The first phase is planned to be commissioned until August/September 2017. Artist of the project is the company MIKS and project manager is IPS Group. The complex includes construction of high-technology enterprise for the production of parts and components for packaging machines of MULTIVAC, including manufacturing building, warehouse and logistics premises, training center and administrative part. In addition, MULTIVAC will develop a center for shared IT services, working from 2015, and a center for strategic sourcing. In the coming years, R&D department will be added, too. The investment in the new production amounts to 18.8 million euros by 2019.

“We are pleased that the project starts now“, said Christian Traumann. “Thanks to the professional support of National Company Industry Zones EAD as well as the Bulgarian Investment Agency the investment is on schedule.“ In July 2016, MULTIVAC Bulgaria Production Ltd. received a certificate for investment class “A“. During the initial steps of the project MULTIVAC there was also a constructive dialogue with local authorities in the person of Mayor of Bozhurishte, Mr. Dimov. The company relies on the support of the municipality and others.

By commissioning the production site, MULTIVAC will create more than 150 new jobs in the region. In 2015, the company launched initiatives to attract young professionals in the fields of engineering, IT technologies, logistics etc. "Along with these initiatives, our organization is also interested in employment programs for disadvantaged people to integrate them into the work environment," said Ivailo Dimitrov, Manager of MULTIVAC Bulgaria Production LTD.

Christian Traumann added: “Our new production site in Bulgaria will enable us to offer and provide our customers first-rate product parts and an excellent service.“
