Deli Star Corporation announces the hiring of five new employees: Jeanne Gannon as Director of Quality; Ben Gehrs as Senior Process Engineer; Jessica Meyer as Finance Manager; Luke Siegel as Project Manager; and Dan Kuester as Process Engineer.
“2017 is an exciting year for Deli Star, as it is not only our 30th anniversary, but we are also experiencing an incredible amount of company growth,” says Justin Siegel, president of Deli Star Corporation. “We are thrilled to welcome our talented new team members to the Deli Star family and continue to be a driving force in the meat industry.”
Jeanne Gannon, Director of Quality, comes to Deli Star with extensive experience in food quality, safety, and research and development, as she previously served with Troverco, Inc., AdvancePierre Foods and Landshire. She is a certified SQF Practitioner, AIB Food Defense Coordinator, and earned certifications in USDA HACCP, Seafood HACCP and Advanced HACCP. Jeanne earned a Bachelor of Science in food science with an emphasis in food manufacturing operations from Purdue University.
Ben Gehrs was hired as Senior Process Engineer. He has served in quality and process engineering roles – gaining experience in research and development, project management, and production – at companies such as Spartan Light Metals and Toyota. Ben earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Jessica Meyer joins Deli Star as Finance Manager. She previously served as a senior staff accountant where she had extensive experience with accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, payroll, and auditing. Jessica earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from McKendree University.
Luke Siegel returns to Deli Star as Project Manager, after working in Deli Star’s quality control department in 2013. While with Deli Star, he gained experience in production, quality control, research and development, and management. Luke has also held production and operations positions at MacKinnon Ice Horse, Inc. and Jarling’s Custard Cup. He earned a Bachelor of Science in natural resources & environmental science from the University of Illinois.
Dan Kuester was hired as Process Engineer after graduating from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in May, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics. Dan is an active member in Engineering without Borders, and served as an engineering mentor while at SIUE. He also volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, and has experience with companies such as Ameren, Videojet and CalRob Venture Group.
