Bo Jackson partners with Alabama Coasting to help promote Alabama’s culinary champions
Alabama Coasting has announced that Bo Jackson’s Signature Foods has signed on as a corporate partner with World Food Championship–Team Alabama for the 2018 & 2019 seasons. Danny Calametti, CEO of Alabama Coasting explains, "In forming WFC Team Alabama, our focus is on gathering a team of top-notch chefs, whether professional or home cooks, to compete in the World Food Championships in Orange Beach. Our overarching goal, in concert with Alabama Tourism, is to highlight and promote Alabama’s culinary culture across the state and throughout the food nation."
Everyone knows of Bo Jackson’s success when it comes to competitive sports, but today Bo is fast gaining a reputation as a World Class Food Entrepreneur, who just happens to be a champion all-star professional athlete in two major sports of football and baseball, who brings his winning, team-based philosophy to both his branded and philanthropic endeavors.
“I've been a closet foodie since I can remember and with this partnership, not only do I get to be that screaming fan in the stands cheering on my home state, but I get to help build and promote culinary skills across Alabama", commented Vincent “Bo” Jackson, the CEO of VEJ Holdings, LLC. He further stated, "I am thrilled to join with Alabama Coasting as our primary partner in the Southeast to promote my line of Bo’s Burgers and our other retail and food service products under Bo Jackson Signature Foods.”
"Our first event is the Sweet Home Alabama Dessert and Culinary Fair, Aug. 11th, in partnership with Alabama 200 and the American Culinary Federation’s Alabama Chapter", said David Calametti, President of Alabama Coasting. "Taking place on the Jefferson State Community College Campus, the dessert competition will feature school teams as well as professional and home chefs. We will also be introducing Bo’s Signature Burgers at the Culinary Fair. These top of the line, 100% beef burgers, will be cooked by a select group of ProStart Grillers and sold to help fund ACF scholarships.”
Calametti added, “We are excited about the slate of additional 2018 events that we'll be announcing in the near future. More importantly, adding a proven winner like Bo Jackson’s Signature Foods to our WFC Team Alabama family, helps advance our winning game plan for 2019 and beyond.”
