The National Provisioner recognized as a Folio: Eddie Awards finalist

By Industry News
newsbriefs
September 18, 2019

For the second consecutive year, The National Provisioner has been recognized as a FINALIST for the coveted Folio:Eddie Awards. This year, two articles from the past year are in the running for Eddie Awards in their specific categories:

• "State of the Industry Report" — Finalist in "Series of Articles, B2B, Food & Beverage"

• "Food Safety Report: Outbreak of Incompetence" — Finalist in "Essays & Criticism, B2B"

This is the second year that The National Provisioner has been selected as a finalist, with the innovative "From the Editor's Desk" video series earning finalist honors and then winning an Folio:Eddie Award in 2018.

For more than 20 years, the Eddie & Ozzie Awards have recognized excellence in magazine editorial and design across all sectors of the magazine-publishing industry. A panel of industry judges named 263 winners across 33 categories. More than 350 magazine media members gathered to celebrate the very best in stunning design and uncompromising journalism in early October in Manhattan, N.Y.

"To win an Eddie Award on our first try in 2018 and now have two of our articles named Finalists for this year's competition makes me so proud of the editorial team and the content we produce for our readers on a monthly basis," said Andy Hanacek, editor-in-chief of The National Provisioner. "This recognition reinforces the hard work our writers and editors put in every day, and the dedication we have to bringing the best, most thorough and most valuable information to the industry."

Both the State of the Industry Report and the Food Safety Report are annual, blockbuster articles for the publication that appear every year. Each article draws on the expertise and access to information that The National Provisioner staff has developed over the years.

"To be recognized by Folio: for the second year in a row, with two finalists in 2019, is an outstanding accomplishment proving that The National Provisioner produces cutting-edge, top-shelf content across all media," said Chris Luke, publisher of The National Provisioner. "In recent memory, no other publication in the meat/protein market has been nominated, won and nominated as a finalist again the following year."

Folio:Eddie & Ozzie Award winners will be announced at a special dinner and event in New York City, Oct. 30, 2019.
