Midas Foods International acquisitions

November 5, 2025

Midas Foods International, a custom dry-blend solutions and culinary product development company, announces the acquisition of Georgia Spice and The Doug Jeffords Co., united under the new brand Creative Spiceworks. Guided by industry veterans John Connelly and Paul Hood, Creative Spiceworks builds on a heritage of excellence in spices and seasoning blends, delivering flavor solutions to a national customer base across diverse market segments.

This acquisition marks the second major milestone for Midas Foods within the past 12 months, advancing its strategy to create a culinary-driven, custom manufacturing platform with R&D capabilities, custom packaging and a national reach. By adding expanded blending and packaging capacity, Midas Foods is now even better positioned to meet growing demand in the protein, meat processing and snack food categories.

“This partnership deepens our reach in the protein and snack segments while adding proven leadership and expertise to the Midas Foods staff,” said Midas Foods International President Richard Elias. “We’re thrilled to welcome the new team and support them with additional resources to drive innovation, scale, and customer success.”

Georgia Spice and The Doug Jeffords Co. will continue under their existing leadership, backed by Midas Foods’ resources. Customers will now receive:

  • Advanced culinary R&D: Access to a nationally recognized team of R&D chefs accelerating product innovation.
  • Food technology: Tools and capabilities that elevate product quality, functionality and efficiency.
  • Expanded production capacity: Greater blending capabilities and a wide range of packaging formats —from meal kit pouches and retail shakers to bulk options for restaurant chains and manufacturers.
  • Broader product portfolio: The expertise to deliver not only seasonings and spice blends, but also sauces, marinades, glazes, bakery blends, and custom dry culinary solutions in both savory and sweet formats.

Paul Hood, who will serve as general manager of Midas Foods’ Southeastern facility based in Birmingham, Ala., highlighted the strong alignment between the two companies. Hood said, “As we looked toward the future, Midas Foods stood out as a natural fit. Their culinary capabilities, R&D bench strength, and national reach give us the tools to scale with our customers and continue delivering outstanding service. Most importantly, we share a customer-first, service-driven culture that will only grow stronger through this partnership.”
