Colossus Series Dual-Stage Grinder
Rome Grinding Solutions, a manufacturer of industrial food grinders and custom grinding systems, announces the launch of the Colossus Series Dual-Stage Grinder, designed to reduce handling, minimize labor and optimize floor space for frozen and tempered food processing applications.
The Colossus is Rome’s largest and most advanced piece of equipment to date, combining pre-breaking and grinding into one seamless system and forming an efficient grinding cell for the beef, pork, poultry and pet food industries.
“Frozen meat production is growing year-over-year, and producers are updating their equipment to keep up with demand,” said Kate Rome, CEO of Rome Grinding Solutions. “The Colossus was built to be the best and last grinder they ever need to buy, delivering unmatched throughput and reliability.”
Available in two models, the Colossus 1109 (11-inch plate, 100–125 horsepower) and Colossus 1612 (16- inch plate, 125–150 horsepower), the series delivers additional horsepower to maintain clean cuts and consistent particle size, even under heavy load. The dual-grinder frame ensures precision alignment and sanitation access, with both models feeding directly into Rome’s Titan Series or Maximus Series grinders.
“We provide service and maintenance for a variety of grinding equipment, not just our own,” said Ryan Van Maasdam, chief revenue officer of Rome Grinding Solutions. “Unlike other pre-breakers that we see in the market, we specifically designed the Colossus to be easy to maintain, so producers can reduce downtime and increase the longevity of their equipment.”
The Colossus will officially debut at the 2026 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Ga., at booth #C20139, alongside Rome’s full line of grinding equipment.
