Copeland, a compression technologies and controls solutions company, is participating at the 2026 IIAR Natural Refrigeration Conference & Heavy Equipment Expo. At the event, Copeland will display its expanded Vilter line of industrial heat pumps, which are now available in North America. This portfolio demonstrates Copeland's commitment to enabling the energy transition with innovative technologies that help industrial customers replace fossil‑fuel systems with economical and sustainable alternatives.

The electrification of space and water heating is an essential step in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from carbon-intensive, fossil fuel-powered HVAC and boiler systems found in industrial applications. Heat pumps alone have the potential to cut global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by at least 500 million tonnes by 2030. As federal- and state-sponsored legislation incentivizes heat pump adoption in the Americas, Copeland is leading the development of energy-efficient compression and heat pump technologies.

“Compressors are the heart of any high‑performing heat pump system,” said Grant Kovac, director of product management for Copeland’s Vilter brand. “Building on over a century of industrial compressor innovation, we have evolved the Vilter portfolio into its most advanced, sustainable offering yet—delivering steam-generating heat pumps capable of high efficiencies and low total cost of ownership.”

Leveraging its acquisition of SPH Sustainable Process Heat and its complementary technology, Copeland has expanded the Vilter industrial heat pump portfolio to cover capacities from 400kW to 5MW, enabling the company to support the full range of industrial applications and meet growing demand. This new addition strengthens Copeland’s ability to serve high‑temperature applications by delivering heat up to 180 degrees Celsius using low‑GWP natural refrigerants, all while achieving a high Coefficient of Performance to ensure energy efficient operations.

Copeland’s expanded Vilter line-up allows for easy installation and maintenance, helping maximize reliability and uptime. For example, in food and beverage operations, Vilter heat pumps help companies lower energy consumption, cut costs and advance their sustainability commitments. For district heating, the technology transforms waste heat into a renewable energy source, delivering an efficient, sustainable heating solution for local communities and process applications.

Meet with Copeland experts and see the expanded Vilter industrial heat pump portfolio on display at IIAR, the largest industrial refrigeration event focused on natural refrigerants, on March 16-18 in San Antonio, Texas at the Copeland booth #417.
