To provide a local source of machinery and technical support to the rapidly growing Chinese food-processing market, Heat and Control Inc. has opened a new manufacturing facility in Nanjing, China. With more than 23,000 square feet of manufacturing space, the Nanjing facility includes nearly 16,000 square feet of office space for engineering, sales, and service personnel. A 2,000-square-foot technical center has also opened to provide product development services and demonstrations of production scale processing and packaging machinery.
Multivac Inc., Kansas City, MO, has introduced a new express delivery program for its compact packaging systems, making the machines more readily available across the United States. Upon receiving an order, Multivac can prepare a machine for shipment within 48 hours from its expanded Kansas City warehouse. “In the past, substantial lead time was often required when ordering capital equipment,” said Bill Williams, compact packaging systems sales manager. “By expanding our facilities, we have been able to not only boost inventories, but also provide immediate turnaround for any of a number of chamber machines and other compact systems.”
Multivac has also announced a new corporate focus geared toward meeting the evolving packaging needs of small to mid-sized companies. This new initiative represents a dedication of resources in machine development, service, support, and training for customers using the company’s compact packaging systems. As part of the initiative, Multivac has developed several high-performance systems, including the automated R140 rollstock system, T200 traysealer, and a wide range of chamber machines from tabletop to freestanding units all the way up to the B500.
