Ray Haefele, senior vice president of Tyson Deli Inc., received the president’s Award at the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association’s annual meeting, held in June in Minneapolis, MN. The President’s Award recognizes distinguished service or contributions to the industry and honors those who have provided support, encouragement, or a helping hand to the IDDBA. Ray Burke, president of the IDDBA and president, bakery/deli division, of Rich Products Corp., selected Haefele for the award. Haefele has been active in the deli industry since 1984, and he has served on the IDDBA board of directors and committees for 15 years.
Harpak has appointed Jerry Rundle as the Northeast regional sales representative. He has more than 20 years of experience in the packaging industry. In addition, Jim Ryan has joined Harpak as vice president of sales. He has previously worked for TW Kutter, Reiser, and Nu-Meat Technology. Kevin Nolan has been appointed senior vice president. Nolan has been with Harpak since 1997, and his new position includes strategic growth, business forecasting, and equipment offerings. Harpak supplies a variety of packaging equipment to the North American market, including Mondini tray-sealing equipment and Hooper horizontal form-fill-seal equipment.
Mark Darby has joined Dapec as an operations manager. He manages after-sales operations, and his responsibilities include service, warehouse assembly, shipping, parts inventory, and the fabrication shop. Darby has 12 years of industry experience on both the equipment and processing side of the poultry industry. NP
