Chuck Tippmann announces retirement from Tippmann Group/Interstate Warehousing

February 20, 2013

Chuck Tippmann has formally announced his retirement from position of president at Tippmann Group / Interstate Warehousing. Tippmann, 60, was an integral part of the success and growth that Tippmann Group has seen over the last 30+ years, including 21 years as president of the company.

“Although I am very excited for my new venture in life – spending more time with my family, hunting, traveling and all of the fun stuff that goes along with retirement, leaving will not be entirely easy,” he said. “I have wholeheartedly enjoyed all of the years I have spent here at Tippmann Group / Interstate Warehousing, and will especially cherish the friendships and relationships that I have developed with those within our company and throughout the cold storage and construction industries.”

Tippmann began his career at Tippmann Group in 1980 as a project manager and worked his way up to the position of president when he took over the day-to-day operations from Tippmann Group owner (and president at the time) John Tippmann Sr. in 1992.

In the announcement of his retirement to the Tippmann Group employees, Tippmann also shared the plans for his successor. “I am happy to announce that John Tippmann Jr. will assume my role as president of the Tippmann Group companies. I am most confident in his wealth of experience and knowledge of our company and industry, and I couldn’t be more comfortable with leaving my position in John Jr.’s capable hands,” he said.

The transition to the next generation of the Tippmann family is one that has been part of a long-term plan for the Tippmann family with the ownership of the company. John Jr., 46, has been involved with Tippmann Group since the age of 20 when he first started working as a warehouse supervisor. Since that time, he has been involved in all aspects of the Tippmann Group and Interstate Warehousing businesses, including warehouse operations and development, real estate management and construction operations.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Chuck and my father, John Sr. as President of Tippmann Group / Interstate Warehousing,” said John Jr. “They have both been excellent leaders and mentors, and it’s both an honor and privilege for me to carry the torch for the Tippmann name in the years to come. I look forward to continuing to grow Tippmann Group / Interstate Warehousing and plan to build on the tradition, flexibility, quality and performance that Tippmann Group has provided for years. As always, our customers will be our top priority, and I am eager to work with them in my new position to ensure they continue to receive the best service in the industry.”
