I am of the hope that, sooner rather than later, we can stop proclaiming each year “crazy” or “unusual” or some other superlative. What I wouldn’t give for a normal, easy, and successful year in food safety, where challenges weren’t so mountainous and issues weren’t new. 

Morgan Foods is recalling approximately 2,205 pounds of Skyline chili due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.

Great American Cobbler LLC. is recalling approximately 4,272 pounds of chicken pot pie products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

Once again, the meat industry deserves to be congratulated for another great year! With fewer than 50 recalls at the time of this writing, 2021 will go down in history as one of the safest years for the meat industry in the last two decades.

Abbyland Foods, Inc. is recalling approximately 14,976 pounds of beef sticks due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.

Kettle River Products is recalling approximately 1,464 pounds of chicken alfredo pizza due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Interstate Meat Dist. Inc. is recalling approximately 28,356 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.

GHGA, LLC. is voluntarily recalling 266, 7.8-oz. packages of Chicken Salad Croissants due to undeclared fish.

HAIFA SMOKED FISH of Jamaica, NY is recalling approximately 230 LB OF TURBOT COLD SMOKED 8 OZ PACKAGES LOT # 246, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

SHA declared that majority of food in warehouse had been “significantly contaminated by rodents.”
