Miniat welcomes new board leaders, advisors

The Miniat Family of companies is announcing its new board and advisors, complementing its recent hiring of CEO Brian Fox as the first non-family leader of the fifth-generation, family-owned business portfolio.
"Our family company continues to innovate and evolve for more than 125 years. Integration with outside leadership and governance is necessary for multi-generational family business's to thrive. I am very excited about our future," said Dave Miniat, chairman emeritus and Miniat's previous CEO.
"Today marks our shift to integrated family and non-family leadership. Our CEO and Chairman are both from outside the family, and we have a fantastic board and board adviser group," Miniat said.
Shane Miller joins advisory board
Shane Miller has more than 30 years of experience in the protein industry, spanning Tyson Foods and IBP. Most recently, Miller served as group president for Tyson Foods' Fresh Meats Division, leading the company's largest business unit with over $26 billion in annual revenue and 36,000 employees. Throughout his tenure, he gained expertise across beef, pork and case-ready operations. Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts in finance and accounting from Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa, and further refined his leadership skills through the Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School in 2021.
"Shane's deep industry knowledge and collaborative approach make him an invaluable addition to Miniat Holdings' Advisory Board," said Scott Mordell, Miniat's chairman.
Beyond his professional achievements, Miler and his wife reside in Sioux City, Iowa, where they are passionate about community involvement. Miller actively supports Camp High Hopes, a local nonprofit dedicated to individuals with special needs, inspired by his own family's experiences. He has also served on other boards, such as the Meat Institute and JST Global.
Miniat Holdings' Board of Directors, including advisors is comprised of Scott Mordell, Dave Miniat, Brian Fox, Mike Botelho, Susan Kolavo, Charlie McKenna, Shane Miller and Chuck Nalon.
Dale Morsefield retires
Miniat Holdings is also announcing the retirement of Dale Morsefield, who has been a vital contributor to the organization's growth and success over the past decade.
Morsefield joined Miniat in 2016 as president and COO, leading operations for Ed Miniat LLC and South Chicago Packing LLC. In 2020, he transitioned to the advisory board, continuing to lend his expertise and guidance. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening company performance and enhancing its culture.
"Dale's steady leadership, deep industry knowledge, and unwavering commitment to our team have helped move Miniat forward in important ways," said Miniat. "We are grateful for his many contributions and wish him the very best in his well-earned retirement."
Before joining Miniat, Dale held leadership roles at Vallis Consulting and Nestlé USA, where he was the senior vice president of operations and supply chain.
