Food and packaging inspection technologies company Loma Systems is launching the X5DE Dual Energy X-ray Inspection System in North America. The X5DE is purpose-built for contaminant detection in demanding food production environments and features Loma's advanced dual energy technology.
X5DE Dual Energy X-ray Inspection SystemThe X5DE detects low-density contaminants such as bone, rubber and glass, even in overlapping or multilayered products. Ideal for high-throughput processing lines across the convenience food, snacks, and packaged meat and poultry sectors, the X5DE combines high sensitivity, reduced false rejects and a hygienic design to support modern food safety objectives.
“North American food manufacturers face increasing pressure to meet both compliance regulations and consumer quality expectations without compromising on productivity,” said Louis Chatel, Loma’s North America business unit manager. “The X5DE was developed with these concerns in mind. With its intelligent detection algorithms, real-time image processing and seamless Industry 4.0 connectivity, the system empowers operators to boost line efficiency while protecting their brand reputation.”
Developed in direct response to feedback from North American customers, the X5DE addresses challenges faced by food producers in the region. These challenges include reducing false reject rates while detecting smaller and more difficult contaminants, ensuring consistent performance across a wide range of products and maintaining compliance with strict regulatory standards.
The system’s compact, hygienic design supports rigorous washdown procedures. Features such as reject confirmation, automatic image archiving and full digital traceability offer control for manufacturers.
The X5DE is already available worldwide.
