Pork processor Triumph Foods announces a nearly $30 million expansion in St. Joseph, Mo.
The expansion to its facility at 5302 Stockyards Expressway will increase the company’s current cold storage and shipping space, as well as set the stage for increased production. The expansion also involves the acquisition and installation of new equipment, machinery and personal property related to the project.
“We are proud of the work we do every day to feed the world, and this expansion is the next step in that commitment,” said Matt England, President and CEO at Triumph Foods. “Investing in this expansion means investing in our team members and the community that has supported us throughout our 20 years in operations.”
Triumph is St. Joseph’s second largest employer. “Triumph is a great community partner, and we’re pleased to support an investment of this scale that continues to strengthen our local economy and create lasting opportunities for the future,” said Mayor John Josendale.
The Chamber and the St. Joseph Economic Development Partnership worked with many partners to make this expansion possible including the Missouri Department of Economic Development, Evergy, Buchanan County and the City of St. Joseph.
“We at the County are excited to hear that a company that we consider vital to our community has the confidence to invest and expand their operations,” said Scott Nelson, Buchanan County presiding commissioner.
