The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association names Joe Schuele as its director of trade media. Schuele has served on the staff of the Nebraska Legislature from 1987 to 1996, including four years as the chief research analyst for the Committee on Agriculture. In 1996, Schuele joined the corporate communications staff at Lincoln Telephone Co. in Lincoln, NE, with responsibility for legislative and regulatory affairs ad the federal, state, and municipal levels.
Eduardo Mercado joins Computerway Food Services as a service engineer. His responsibilities include providing service, training, and installation of hardware for sizing lines and inventory systems in the food industry. Fluent in English and Spanish, Mercado provides on-site training in both languages. He is also responsible for translation of user manuals.
Dhuanne Dodrill is the new president and chief operating officer of Rollprint Packaging Products Inc. Dodrill joined the company in 1984 and has held a variety of positions, most recently as executive vice president (since 2002). Dodrill brings more than 20 years of flexible packaging experience to the position including technical, quality assurance, and management. During her tenure, she has spearheaded several technical flexible packaging innovations in the healthcare, food, and industrial markets.
Shuttleworth Inc. promotes Brenton Ranc to vice president technical operations. Previously, Ranc was named technical operations manager and was responsible for Shuttleworth’s engineering and manufacturing operations worldwide. Ranc has been with Shuttleworth for 10 years and has served as both mechanical engineering and systems engineering manager. Ranc will now head up the company’s Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Research & Development, and Production departments.
Saf-T-Gard International promotes Daniel McGivern to vice president/sales and Loren Rivkin to vice president/marketing. McGivern is responsible for the direction of all domestic U.S. sales in all markets including the industrial and manufacturing sectors, food processing utilities and contractors, government, and domestic preparedness/homeland security. Rivkin will direct marketing, business development, and strategic planning activities for the company, including product development, product management, market research, and marketing/advertising/ promotional campaigns.
Safe Foods Corp. appoints Dr. Peggy Cook as the company’s chief scientific officer. Cook will be an executive officer and a member of the company’s Leadership Team. Cook is a member of the American Society of Microbiologists, Institute of Food Technology, Association of Official Analytical Chemists, International Association of Food Protection, and American Association or Laboratory Accreditation.
