John-Ole Hansen of CFS has decided to bring forward his desired and planned transition out of day-to-day management in order to pursue his increasing personal interests outside the company. Hansen has joined the supervisory board of CFS where he will retain a keen interest and ownership stake. David Ryan, who was chairman of the board (and an operating partner with AEA Investors), has become CEO. After a brief transition period to assist Ryan, Hansen ended his day-to-day involvement in the company effective December 31st.
Multivac Inc., has announced the appointment of its newest regional sales manager handling clients in the food industry. James Stillinger will manage the northwest territory of the U.S., which includes the states of Washington, Alaska, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. He reports to Bob Koch, director of sales for the company’s food division. Stillinger comes to Multivac from Domino Amjet Inc., and will manage the territory from his office in Salem, Oregon. His appointment is effective immediately.
Butterball LLC has announced that Dick Sarvas has been named senior vice president of retail sales. Sarvas’ team will include two division vice presidents of retail sales. Sarvas served in executive leadership positions with ConAgra Foods for 16 years before joining Butterball. Bill Klump has been named senior vice president of marketing, responsible for directing Butterball’s marketing activities and providing strategic leadership for the Butterball brand. Klump previously served as vice president and general manager for Butterball’s deli division, after holding executive positions with ConAgra Foods, Parmalat Bakery North America and Sara Lee Refrigerated Foods. Jay Jandrain has accepted the new position of vice president of research & development, reporting directly to Kerry Doughty, executive vice president of sales, marketing and R&D. Jandrain has 17 years of experience in research & development and sales.
Chicago Meat Authority has introduced Chris Marriott as vice president of business development.  Marriott brings more than 30 years of building long term business relationships to Chicago Meat Authority. Marriott’s past experience includes developing, training, and leading many sales and marketing teams for large manufacturing organizations such as Kraft and ConAgra.  In these roles, he maintained responsibility for multifunctional strategic process implementation including customer supply chain strategic planning and business development planning.  
FKI Logistex has announced the appointment of Matt Wicks to vice president of systems engineering for the company’s Manufacturing Systems group. Wicks’ promotion follows a recent consolidation of the Systems and Conveyor Engineering groups within FKI Logistex Manufacturing Systems. Wicks has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla and a Professional Engineer license from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
Millwood Inc., a manufacturer of unit load and packaging materials and services, has announced the appointments of Douglas Gaier, national account manager, and David Sabo, regional sales manager. In addition, Brian Shapona has been appointed packaging sales engineer for Liberty Technologies, a Millwood company. Gaier is a graduate of Youngstown State University, with a Bachelors Degree in business marketing, management and advertising. Sabo, also a graduate of Youngstown State University, will serve as regional account manager of the Allegheny Territory. Shapona holds a Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering technology from Youngstown State University, and possesses a wide range of packaging equipment application experience.
