Land O’Frost, America’s third-largest and fastest growing lunchmeat brand, today announced that David G. Funk, 53, has joined the company in the newly created position of senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Funk joins Land O’Frost after a distinguished 22-year career at Ralcorp Holdings which spun off from Ralston Purina in 1994. While at Ralcorp, Funk served in several capacities – most recently as a member of the company’s strategic planning team and vice president of sales for The Carriage House Companies, one of the nation's leading manufacturers of private label foods.

“Dave brings Land O’Frost more than 30 years of intensive sales and marketing and management experience working with top-tier companies,” said David Van Eekeren, president and CEO of Land O’Frost. “He has a proven track record growing brands and will be an excellent addition to our talented senior management team already in place. He knows our industry well and will bring Land O’Frost many fresh perspectives that will allow us to continue to innovate and grow.”

In his role of senior vice president of marketing and sales, Funk will help develop strategies to support Land O’Frost’s publicly stated goal to double the size of the company by 2014. His specific responsibilities will include creating additional synergies between the sales and marketing functions and evaluating strategic growth initiatives for the company.

“I am excited to join the fastest growing lunchmeat brand in America which grew revenues by 20 percent last year,” said Funk. “I look forward to continuing the momentum achieved by the company last year by identifying new growth opportunities and expanding the Land O’Frost brand into new markets.”

Prior to joining Ralcorp, Funk spent nine years at Swift-Eckrich where he built his career in the company’s sales organization.
