Minnesota grocer to close meat and deli production facility
Coborn's, the largest grocer in the St. Cloud, Minn., area, is closing down its meat and deli production facility in the city. The DBC Foods facility will close on July 8, eliminating 90 jobs, 50 of which were full time.
The closing of the facility is part of a move to outsource its production to larger, more-specialized producers around the Midwest, Coborn's CEO Chris Coborn said, reports the St. Cloud Times. DBC Foods manufactures approximately 700 items, including deli salads and entrees, and a wide selection of smoked meat products.
