Study: Organic poultry farms have less drug-resistant bacteria
A study published in Environmental Health Perspectives states that large-scale organic poultry farms had significantly lower levels of one group of drug-resistant bacteria than their conventional counterparts.
Scientists from the University of Maryland and other universities looked at 10 mid-Atlantic farms that had adopted organic practices, reports NPR. They measures the levels of enterococci bacteria against 10 conventional farms in the same area.
