Smithfield launches new responsibility Web site
Live Twitter event today at 2 p.m. Eastern time will discuss the new approach
You may already know that Smithfield Foods is committed to producing good food responsibly, but what does that really mean?
Our mission is to be the most socially responsible food producer we can be, and that includes conversations that help ensure that consumers, customers and others are engaged with our business as much as possible. That’s why we’re launching smithfieldcommitments.com—a website dedicated to our unwavering commitment to producing good food responsibly.
Today’s consumers are hungry to know where their food comes from and how the companies that make it operate. The launch of smithfieldcommitments.com is a big step in developing important dialogs that address issues and opportunities surrounding animal care, employees, environment, food safety & quality, and helping communities.
We’ve made significant progress in becoming a more socially conscious and responsible company over the years. In fact, sustainability has taken a significant position at every level of our company. As we move forward into the future, we will continue to seek input from you.
Join us for a live Twitter event on November 2 at 2:00 EST to kick off the dialog, answer your questions and share more about our commitments. To participate follow @SmithfieldCSR and tweet your questions using #SFDCSR. If you can’t join us, feel free to submit questions using the site’s Q&A function.
We hope you visit us at smithfieldcommitments.com and help us shape a more sustainable future.
