Oscar Mayer’s bacon goes high-class for Father’s Day

News Brief Feature

The Oscar Mayer brand is inspiring wives, girlfriends, mothers, and significant others across the nation to take a stand against ties and other cliche mens' gifts.  Instead they now can express their love by giving the guys in their lives what they really want: BACON.

For the first time ever, Oscar Mayer is offering consumers nationwide the opportunity to purchase its Original bacon online in a limited release gift pack perfect for this upcoming Father's Day, anniversaries, birthdays or any special occasion. The gifts are available for just four weeks beginning June 4, 2013.

Delicately bundled in a luxurious velvet jewelers box, the Oscar Mayer Original Collection includes 18-20 slices of delicious Oscar Mayer Originalbacon, and is available in three personalized gift sets: The Commander, which comes with a stainless steel money-clip engraved with the words "Bringin' it Home" and an image of a bacon strip; The Matador, which features two handsome bacon strip cufflinks; and The Woodsman, which includes a rugged 12 function multitool with a bacon strip image carved into the handle.

"Before, I was a statistic on Father's Day.  Like everyone else, I was showered with ties, coffee mugs and after shave over the years," said Oscar Mayer Senior Marketing Director, Tom Bick.  "But really, who wants a tie when you can have bacon? Now Oscar Mayer is doing its part to give men what they really want."

So when it is time for a woman to tell her man how she feels, Oscar Mayer invites her to Say It With Bacon and put a smile on his face that can only be evoked by the perfect execution of the Four C's – cut, color, cure and consistency – which transform an ordinary slice of pork belly into a dazzling strip of enduring desire.

The gift packages cost between $22-28 each, shipping and handling included, and are available only at www.SayItWithBacon.com from June 4 to July 1, 2013.  Each day during the four-week period, a random quantity of gift sets will be made available at SayItWithBacon.com on a first come-first served basis; quantities are limited. The product releases will be announced via Twitter through @OscarMayer. Special E-cards will also be available at any time to send to your favorite bacon lover.

Visit www.SayItWithBacon.com for more information or to purchase a gift from the Oscar Mayer Original Collection.
